True to form, the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services’ (CCIG) recent event examining the challenges posed by a protectionist environment, was well received by the many guests to the Chamber’s offices in Geneva, Switzerland.
CCIG’s Deputy Director, Vincent Subilia, together with speakers from the seminar, describe in this enlightening video why, in today’s complex globalised world, with Brexit and US uncertainties, it is imperative that challenges be recognised and addressed with urgency. Trade Pacts Managing Director and trade law expert Dr Marina Foltea was one of four distinguished guests invited to speak during the seminar.
“We are seeing a surge in trade protectionist measures across the world, and they are often driven by a huge misunderstanding about economic theory and how international trade works,” explains Dr Foltea. “It’s important that businesses understand what the costs could be, the measures to be expected, and how to deal with these measures.”
